The Comfort Craft Bend—Is There Really a Difference?
The Comfort Craft Bend—Is There Really a Difference?
Regular massage tables are nice, but they are not completely ergonomic. They’re, of course, flat. But if we take a look at the human body, we notice that it is not flat. It has curves, bends, and bumps. As a result, why should anyone receive a massage on a flat table and feel slightly better at the end of the session when they could receive a massage on a table that bends with their body and feel undeniably more relaxed and recharged? That’s the Comfort Craft bend. Our tables are designed with both the massage therapist and massage client in mind. Still, does the bend really make a difference? Yes, and here’s how!
How Does the Bend Work?
Comfort Craft pioneered the mid-split (the bend) over 20 years ago to help therapists take the body out of being on a flat surface. This creative approach allows the relaxation of the lower back and supports the arch of the body when lying face up. Another great benefit of the mid-split is that it can be used by therapists to help themselves with opening up their own front line due to overworking their own muscles. In other words, the bend not only improves the treatment and the comfort of the clients, but it also reduces the therapist’s efforts by half and allows him/her to work more efficiently. A two to three minute session can make a major difference in day-to-day work. As a result, no more would a therapist need to hunch over the client, putting strain on his/her shoulders, arms, and back just to be able to give the client a good massage.
What Sorts of Mid-Split Tables Can You Find?
At Comfort Craft, we have five different electric massage tables, each tailored for various therapists’ needs. For instance, our Model 850 is ideal for the advanced Body Work therapist, such as chiropractic and Active Release Techniques. Along with the 25 degree side to side movement, the table has a sliding headrest that allows the head to move independently in and out of the headrest, creating space during treatment. This is a major improvement for the patient over being placed in a non-moving foam pillow.
Our most popular electric massage table is our Model 800. This table is similar to Model 850 in terms of the sliding headrest and the mid-split bend. The smooth, electric powered mid-split design dramatically improves treatment because the patient’s back is immediately taken out of compression as it is on flat tables. Effortless ergonomics are easily obtained using the cutout in the pad to step in close to the body, allowing therapists to use their own weight, not their strength. This reduces the work effort, while increasing energy levels.
So you decide for yourself. Whether you are a massage therapist or a person looking for a powerful massage, would you rather have a flat table or a Comfort Craft bend? Just think of all the benefits the electric massage tables have on the body, both for the client and the therapist. If you’re still not sure or want more details on the tables, call us.
