Why are Flat Massage Tables Not So Great?

Before we discuss our Comfort Craft tables, let’s talk about the regular, flat massage tables. While people still enjoy massage sessions on these old tables, they are not completely satisfied. The flat surface doesn’t allow the body to be in the most comfortable position. Plus, the therapist has to lean forward, put extra effort on their shoulders, arms, and hands, all the while hunching forward and experiencing neck and back pains. As you can probably tell, these old, flat tables are not ideal for a relaxing, helpful massage.

How do Comfort Craft Tables Work?

Comfort Craft pioneered the mid-split (the bend) 20 years ago to help therapists take the body out of being on a flat surface. This innovation allows the relaxation of the lower back and supports the arch of the body when lying face up. Another great benefit of the mid-split is that it can be used by therapists to help themselves with opening up their own front line due to overworking their own muscles. A two to three minute session can make a major difference in day-to-day work. In other words, our electric massage tables improve the treatment and comfort of clients all the while aiding them in the relaxation process, as for therapist benefits, our tables reduce the work effort by half and allow the therapist to work more efficiently.

At Comfort Craft, we have five different electric massage tables, each tailored for various therapists’ needs. For instance, our Model 850 is ideal for the advanced body work therapist, such as a chiropractor, since the table has a sliding headrest that allows the head to move independently in and out of the headrest, creating space during treatment. This is a major improvement for the patient over being placed in a non-moving foam pillow.

Another popular electric massage table is our Model 800. This table is similar to Model 850 in terms of the sliding headrest and the mid-split bend. The smooth, electric powered mid-split design dramatically improves treatment because the patient’s back is immediately taken out of compression as it is on flat tables. Effortless ergonomics are easily obtained using the cutout in the pad to step in close to the body, allowing therapists to use their own weight, not their strength. This reduces the work effort, while increasing energy levels.

What’s even better yet is that Comfort Craft tables adjust to a height below 19”, making them ideal for massage therapists whose clients have disabilities.
