Ergonomic Solution for the Massage Workplace
Ergonomic Solution for the Massage Workplace
Let’s be real: massage therapy and other forms of physical therapy can exhaust the therapist and drain him or her of energy. Muscles being put to work can end up tense and out of shape. Over time, this ends up making the therapist’s work less effective on the client/patient. Simultaneously, the client/patient might feel good during the session but still not get the complete comfort he or she needs to improve. Both of these problems can be fixed with this simple ergonomic solution for the massage workplace: by using Comfort Craft’s massage tables, both client and therapist feel less tension and more comfort, making the session much effective than before. What makes Comfort Craft’s tables special? Continue reading to find out.
The Comfort Craft Bend
Comfort Craft pioneered the mid-split (the bend) over 27 years ago to help therapists take the body out of being on a flat surface. This innovative approach helps the lower back be in a relaxed position, which, as a result, supports the arch of the body when lying face up. Another fantastic use of a mid-split table is that it helps therapists by opening up their own front line due to overworking their own muscles. In other words, the bend not only improves the treatment and the comfort of the clients, but it also lessens the therapist’s exertions by half and allows him or her to do a better job. With this ergonomic solution, the therapist would not have to hunch over the client, put strain on his or her shoulders, arms, and back just to be able to give the client a professional, satisfying massage.
Model 800
There are many Comfort Craft tables that rely on the mid-split design and have this ergonomic solution; however, we are going to point out the two latest models in this blog. Comfort Craft’s Model 800 was designed with the wonderful bend in order to put patients in a relaxed position so that therapists can open the back area with little effort. This table is electric powered, which lets therapists control the position of the client. The bend design in this table lets patients’ backs be taken out of compression the way they would on flat massage tables. There is a head pillow included with the table and it helps align the client’s head with the body, which gives the patient total support, helps the release, and aids in the relaxation of the body.
Model 850
Model 850 is the newest Comfort Craft table. It has a lateral rear unit, which will move 25 degrees in either direction for working the lower extremities during side-to-side movement. This unique feature was designed for Active Release Technique (ART) and other types of treatment that require movement during therapy. The second new feature is the removable shoulder extension at the front pad area. This design provides a front pad that can change from a 30”/32” wide pad to a 16” wide chest pad that allows for total shoulder movement in the face-down or face-up positions. Plus, there is special foam in the center of the pad for chiropractic-type adjustments; yet, even with this special foam, the table offers the comfort of a massage table. This makes Model 850 perfect for massage therapy, bodywork therapy, or chiropractic therapy.
